I have seen a few reviews online saying these beans dont deliver, but I decided to give them a try myself. First off, the beans have a light colour not your typical dark roast. They’re labelled as medium intensity, with a rating of four for body and aroma. But here’s the thing, I think the flavour is actually pretty decent. Mild, sure, but not tasteless at all. I ran these beans through my machine at a grind level of about 10, got a fine grind, and the extraction came out with a nice crema and a rich colour that settled beautifully. I went with a single shot, about 9 grams, and ended up with a lovely 16-gram extraction. The flavour was full-bodied, and the crema was definitely the highlight here. Now, there was one review I saw calling it “cheap-tasting.” I’ve got to disagree I think it holds up really well, especially considering the price. It’s a solid, no-frills cup of coffee. You can pay twice or three times as much for “fancier” beans, but for the money, Lavazza qualita rossa is a fantastic deal. A whole kilo of these beans lasted me over 100 cups, and the aroma alone feels like coffee heaven. For anyone who’s after a good reliable cup of coffee without breaking the bank, I’d say these beans are absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be using plenty more of these on my coffee journey!

After a few years of running our espresso machine, we've concluded that consistency in process is as, if not more, important than going for fancy different local varieties; we found that every time we discovered a new roaster we'd waste 1/3 bag dialling in the right grind and dose. Eventually we decided to settle on a consistent, repeatable brand that we could get easily. Lavazza is that brand. Whilst not always the last word in character, it's easy-drinking coffee that's inexpensive and - to my non-coffee nerd tastes - results in a very tasty flat white or similar. I would certainly argue that a properly dialled in Qualita Rossa will taste nicer than an under-extracted fancy-pants locally roasted offering (which is quite likely if I am the one pulling the shots; your mileage may vary, as they say :) )

Using in a bean to cup machine on quite a fine grind for espresso based dinks. I'd been getting headaches from previous brand and couldn't stretch to single origin or illy. Gave this a try and it's slotted in to our lives very happily! Great price for 1kg of beans too.

Lavazza is amazing. I lived in Sicily for three years and drank Lavazza every day. I was concerned that buying coffee online would not be as good as I was used to, but this product did not disappoint. The bold flavor is perfect in the morning. I enjoy two to three different types of espresso drinks every day. I have an Italian automatic machine and a standard peculator, and the coffee is great in both. I recommend using this product in a non-stovetop device for an espresso. Lavazza produces a thick crema top that is awesome for espresso. The crema is less dense on the stovetop peculator. In contrast, a stovetop works great for a morning capo. The coffee has a nice flavor on medium heat, and I can use as much espresso as I want. The espresso machine does not allow me to increase the quantity of single or double shots. A double shot is best in a capo. The price is great, and the bag lasts about a month. I recommend using the auto-ship option to save even more money.

Here on Van Isle, the coffee shops all serve coffee that tastes burnt and bitter from for the most part. Low grade stygian oily beans is what sells. Yea, it looks appealing. Its bitter, burnt, lacking any important flavour notes. I differ from the local coffee norm. Italian medium roast is where its at for me. I grew up in a different place, and they served excelent coffee there. I like the Lavazza Crema E Aroma flavour more, yet the caffeine buzz is a bit much for me. The Lavazza Rossa is great with slight sourness and has less caffeine. So it is my go to lately. These are good tasting coffees at a good price. When I serve it to friends, 2 out of 10 will ask what brand of coffee I am serving. I think for the other 8 of 10, it wouldn’t make a difference to them anyways. If you think coffee can be better than what your drinking now, give these a try. You might find what you have been looking for.
